Fjordman Reveals Himself... With An Unsurprising Twist

I'm a little late reporting this, but it seems to have flown under the radar of most major news outlets that the blogger Fjordman has revealed himself. Having been tracked by police, he has come forward to divorce himself from Anders Breivik and the horrors associated with him. His brand is damaged, after all. One other interesting detail has come forward though, which I'd like to discuss in the interest of further discussion on the matter and perhaps to get some other opinions on.

The man behind the blog, Peder Jensen, is Jewish. Fjordman often wrote from an extremely pro-Israel stance in his postings, but this leads to a common thread shared by many of the big figures in the counter-jihad. Pamela Geller, David Horowitz, David Yerushalmi, Debbie Schlussel, Bat Ye'or etc etc are Jewish. As a tiny religious minority, you'd figure that they'd make a rather small portion of the so-called counter jihad. One might ask if it's a conspiracy of some sorts, but that's just plain dumb. The reality is that for Zionists, and I'm not using that term loosely here the above mentioned are all firm supporters of Jewish nationalism, making Muslims out to be the enemy is perceived to be beneficial for their long term goals for the security of Israel. Convincing Westerners that Israel's fight is their fight is probably the single best use of propaganda out there for supporters of Israel.

Now, I don't have a problem with propaganda. It's not like the American government doesn't use propaganda and Israel's enemies such as Hamas and Hizb'allah both use their own forms of propaganda quite heavily. Every single ideology out there uses propaganda. What I find disturbing is that so many Jews feel threatened by Muslims and Islam due to their politics concerning Israel. As previously mentioned, I feel that Jews and Muslims are natural allies. Call me naive, call me an idealist, I just calls 'em like I sees 'em.

The big figures aforementioned are not "pulling the strings" of anyone. There's no vast Zionist conspiracy to turn Christians against Muslims. If anything, the lion's share of convincing for Christians concerning a clash of civilizations comes from the attacks and atrocities committed by Muslims themselves. Without such atrocity, people simply wouldn't demonize us that way. But the motives of these figures is not just tied into their fear for Western civilization, which has traditionally done nothing but terrorize Jews, but also in order to support Israel by any means necessary.

The rather hilarious hypocrisy of this though is that while Jews are themselves the victims of conspiracy theories, a few are also FORWARDING conspiracy theories concerning Muslims and a dreaded Islamic take over of Europe and even America. Eurabia, by Bat Ye'or, is the most loony example of this. It's nothing short of a conspiracy theory, effectively arguing that the European powers were in cahoots with Arab states to create a joint Arab/European axis against Israel. Further, Ye'or states that Muslims seek to advance a "global caliphate". Where have we heard these theories before? Best to ask the anti-Semites at Stormfront.org, I'm sure that they can give us glowing reviews of works stating that Jews control the media, world finance, and all known governments.

Since Fjordman has come forward to disavow his connection with Anders Breivik, I say that he is a brave man and my respect for him has grown from nothing to "you've got some balls". He did the right thing, given the circumstances, and credit should be given where credit is due. But this is my open letter to Fjordman, whom I doubt shall ever read my blog but whatever...

Renounce conspiracy theory concerning Muslims. If you want to blog about how damaging Islam has been, how the ideology lends itself well to fanaticism, how the rights of minorities are not respected in Islamic societies etc etc. AWESOME, we're on the same page. We might even be on the same team. But what you have been doing, demonizing Muslims hiding behind a pen name has just been wrong. It's defamation, plain and simple.

Your writings about "whites" and "indigenous Europeans" may be heartfelt, but do racists view YOU as being a white? HAHAHA, no, Fjordman, they view YOU as being the outsider as well. It may be cliche, but my advice to you is this homily...

"Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it."

  1. Strange posting. Fjordman is Jewish?

How did you learn this suprising information?

I saw no evidence in your article (nor elsewhere). Please tell me you didn't just pull it out of your ear because it fit in with your preconceptions (because I thought you're better than that).

  2. Westward Ho, a fair question and I will share with you the information. Due to a desire to try to respect the privacy and identity of his family as much as possible, I decided it would be best not to share that information with my readers. However, I can certainly see how my post may be viewed by some as being an example of "the Jews did it" or otherwise an anti-Semitic tirade.

Here is a Norwegian article with Fjordman's father, Steinar Nøstvold Jensen. His father is, of course, not particularly pleased with his son's views.

His father is openly Jewish, a somewhat famous jazz musician and came from a very liberal background.

  3. Westward Ho, the spirit of my post though was to examine why Jews are so well represented in criticism of Islam. Is it because they are Jewish and they have some sort of default hatred for Islam? The answer is obviously no. Does it have a great deal to do with their politics concerning Israel as well as mistreatment by Arabs following the creation of Israel? That's a much more plausible answer.

I view anti-Semitism as having many unfortunate parallels with anti-Islamic sentiment. In my posts, I speak very freely about how disturbing/evil/foolish/immoral and otherwise dumb anti-Semitism among Muslims is. I hold Jews to a similar standard, because I frankly want both Jews and Muslims to realize that we're very closely related.
